About Us
Ayurveda Sambhasa is a platform initially founded by six students of Ayurveda Campus, Kathmandu, Nepal, on 23rd September 2024, with the vision of reviving the classical tradition of sambhasa—the art of discussion described in the Charaka Samhita. In the classical texts, discussion among physicians was considered essential for the advancement of knowledge, clarification of doubts and preservation of truth. Inspired by this wisdom, we have established a modern space where dialogue is rooted in both classical references and contemporary medical science.
Within a year, Ayurveda Sambhasa has successfully conducted 21 offline discussions and 22 online reading sessions of Ayurvedic classics. Unlike the traditional assemblies where outcomes were judged by a parishad, here the “parishad” is the classical texts themselves. Every idea is tested against authentic references - either from the ancient scriptures or validated modern sciences. No unsupported or unfounded opinions are accepted.
Our purpose is to expand the scope of classical Ayurvedic knowledge in its authentic form, respecting the wisdom of the sages while making it relevant in the present era. To bring this tradition to a global audience, we are building a digital platform where scholars and practitioners worldwide can engage. Through articles, vlogs and structured discussions, anyone may present or challenge ideas—but always with valid references. Ayurveda Sambhasa is not just a forum; it is a movement to restore Ayurveda’s intellectual tradition of debate, dialogue and discovery.
